CLARIFICATION ON DIVINATION AND ALL THAT IT INVOLVES

Divination, readings, or consultations, through spirit or oracle has been done for centuries. Within every culture and society there is a spiritual system set in place. Seers although ridiculed and condemned by the Christian church  and other religions have always been an integral part of every society, though respected, but often unappreciated and even in the bible the prophet Samuel was a most important one. As I always teach here on this blog, it is important for every human being to consult a diviner at least every 21 days. This number 21 has a specific meaning which I will get into later.

We initiates check ourselves (cast our oracle) before Ifa every 5 days, as we believe that energy shifts/changes within that time period, so we know the importance of consulting with our deities to see what tomorrow brings, just in case there may be an encumbrance that is coming up then the solution, through Ifa and Orisha, would be provided. It is important for me to point out that we do not only look for encumbrances but we also look out for good things that are coming (as a way to know our destiny/life path, lies in divination), and with solution given to us through oracle, whatever is destined for us that is good, we as a initiates will be told what to do to bring the good sooner or allow it to come without intervention. When I began my spiritual awakening and realized after my first initiation through spirit (not tradition, read here), I began reading/consulting for people on the telephone (people would call me for prayer after hearing about me from one to another, word of mouth) by praying for them and while I prayed I could see all their lives, almost like a video running before me. This was in my “baby” stage of becoming who I am now, and after a while the people whom I prayed for, wanted to physically meet with me. The first time I sat before a person to read them (I was of the Christian faith back then, though not attending church), I worried about sitting in front of an actual person telling them about their lives. How would I do it? What would I do? I had not an oracle, I was the oracle. Just about ten minutes before the first person was set to arrive, I was instructed not by a voice in my head but by a sudden presence of thought (Note: this is how spirit speaks to you) to tie my head with a red cloth, place a clear glass of water on the table along with a closed bible, and get a pencil or pen and an exercise book.

There was no presence of thought that told me if or what I should charge (I had been reading on the phone for a little while and had never asked for one red cent), so I had no price for divination in my mind, nor was my mind on it. The person finally arrived and they were instructed to sit down and I sat across from them, no shoes must be worn in my house, or any spiritual house for that matter. If the person had on a head tie or a hat (I don’t remember if this particular person did or not), I was told by said presence-of-thought to tell them to remove the hat or head tie though I was to keep mine on. I had no idea at the time that the reason I was told to keep my head covered was because I had to protect myself from their energy which I would pull during divination (which afterwards would be very exhausting). As the person sat before me that day, the said presence-of-thought told me I should tell them to place $25 in the glass of water. Let me stop here for a second just to explain some things to you: Please note that every single item on the table had a specific reason why they were there. 

In spirituality everything has a reason for being, even if the practitioner, while under the instruction of their spirit guide, doesn’t know at first what the meanings are, we will later be tutored or told what everything represents, but all is taught to us in due time and not at once. Another thing for you all to know is that as spiritual practitioners, we are interpreters of divine messages that comes through, therefore our physical body and spiritual presence, which has now been connected to our higher selves and to our non-physical elders through initiations (awakening to the work you came here for), are one. Therefore any spiritualist or diviner should never embellish or add their own thoughts to any particular message they may receive through spirits as it will nullify the whole message. After the client placed the $25 into the glass of water, I took a book and pencil and asked for their name, age and address, which they provided. Immediately I found myself doing automatic writing. It shocked me to see my hands moving, writing some things that I did not understand. But I sat quiet and watched as my hand wrote two pages of words which looked like a mixture of Chinese and Arabic (that’s the best way I can try to describe it because often times the language would change or become unrecognizable but never one English word, this is how I know that the English language is low in vibration spiritually). Afterwards, I looked at keenly and curiously what I had written, which would seem like gibberish to another person, but I then found myself telling the woman all about her life, and everything I told her was the truth, as confirmed by her admittance and sudden tears. After the reading was over and she left, I sat at the table exhausted and slightly frightened. I caught myself in the mirror, which was on the wall in my dining room, my head tie and the reflection of all that was on the table in front of me and wondered where was di hot gal Obara Meji? Madda?! Was gone forever the girl whose hair was forever done nicely and well dressed? Would I now walk the streets, representing myself dressed as this? I was numb to the feeling of a lost self but curious to who this new person is and what was before her. But I saw the beauty which God had made, Madda Obara Meji lol! (I had to make the joke within this post because whenever I think about that day and how afraid I was, I am amazed at the change my life has made in such a short space of time, God is real and spirits are not figments of one’s imagination for I knew I was not crazy).

When I recovered after sitting there for a while, the presence of thought came to mind once again and told me to remove the $25 from the glass of water and place it on the table to dry. It was 3 days after that the instruction came that I should now use that same money to buy candles, incense, and other things as to assist me in my readings because customers would now be coming one behind each other. This is important for me to let you all know that people who do consultations, readings, or divining, that what ever cost they apply for their service, no matter what they are instructed to tell the client that they charge, it is never for them to use personally. It is to provide what is needed for the spirit guides who comes with messages and including in these guides are the client’s own ancestors who will come to give the client’s messages themselves to their charge. The money paid for spiritual divination is for the diviner to use towards his spiritual shrine, altar, or his guardian angel who is assisting him in assisting the client in whatever quest they are on, or whatever they need to be revealed to them. Unknown to the client is the feeling the diviner has in his or her physical body or the mental strain upon them that has been the remnants of the client’s energy after divining for them. Should he or she be burdened with such a heavy load left onto them by the client without any means of spiritually removing that energy which they have sapped from the client? Spiritual tools needed within every culture are:

1. Rum or Gin. Light color liquor which brings forth benevolent energies.
2. Cigars (Note: cigars are not used in Orisa traditional practice in Africa, only by the Lucumi’s. These items that I am listing are used by spiritualists as opposed to traditionalists).
3. Candles
4. Incense
5. Oils
6. Perfumes
7. Chalk and more

For Traditionalists, Babalawo’s, Oloorisha, Iyanifa’s et al:

1. Kola Nut
2. Bitter Kola (orogbo)
3. Gin
4. Palm Oil
5. Pap or ecko (made from corn starch)

You may not know this but just as how every human being is here on this earth realm for their spiritual evolution, in other words so that their spirit can elevate within the realms of time and space if they accomplish their mission while on earth, there are also spirits who choose to elevate without having the human experience but by assisting diviners, spiritual workers, metaphysicians, and their humans who they are in charge of (as guides or guardians) etc. in their work here in the physical realm. In doing this and while not having a human experience, they within the realm of time and space in which they live, can evolve getting closer on becoming a clear conscious beam of light. We, their interpreters, must care for them as one hand cannot clap without the other. The spirit needs the human and the human needs the spirit. As you all know I am a Metaphyisican/Spiritualist/Traditionalist.

Often times people will contact me for readings and I will give them the choice of having me read them or getting a divination from a Taditionalist/ BABALAWO or Iyanifa. The reason I do this is because we use two different oracles. Let me make it clear to you that I can and do divine with an Opele , but when I am in Africa I do not do this, so I give the choice to the client and I explain that if you choose me, my reading does not demand sacrifice right away. I have several oracles that I can use when reading or there are times when I use none at all because I myself am an oracle. Through my oracle the solution to a problem comes up, but unlike the Babalawo who uses an Opele (Ifa divination system, see video here), my divination does not call forth a live energy from time and space which lingers for 5 days to be appeased as his does. Where in which one calls forth odu (live energy) and his which demands sacrifice right away or within 5 days of divination, my own accesses your own personal guardian angel, your “head” (ori), ancestors, or any spirits that wants to come forward to speak on your behalf. They will read you accurately, but the demand for sacrifice right away is not included although solution too will be given. Also, the Babalawo who is Orunmila’s representative on earth (Orunmila being the owner of Ifa divination system) will tell you what exactly is going on in your life but he will not speak unnecessarily. He is sharp and to the point. While with me, I will sing your life story from you are born to the day you pass. If the spirit talks, and they can talk for a long time, I can cut them short, which I do not do, I allow them to speak. Also with an Ifa divination, a competent Babalawo, through the advice of Ifa, will not tell you that your enemy is your mother, your daughter, your husband, friend etc. He will only tell you that you have an enemy and that is it. The reason for this is that Ifa is extremely benevolent, wise and does not want problems and because he can see tomorrow he knows that offering these suggestions to some people can bring about destruction, so he will give the solution without the identity of the enemy. With a spiritual reading, however, this may or may not come out. The spirit may call a name, perhaps, and ask who is this person? Or they may give a description but also know that they see tomorrow and if they realize that revealing any of this will create a problem, then they will do as Ifa does, and call no names or describe anyone; this is because of the spiritual road that I, Obara Meji, has taken. Other spiritualists who may divine, same as how I do, may take the left side of the road, where the spirits will reveal whatever, regardless if it creates destruction. I have been really wanting to do this post, I just have not had a chance to do it.
